2. Acceptance of Terms

By booking a courier service with LSCS Couriers, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

A contract is formed when LSCS Couriers expressly accepts a booking. Submitting an enquiry or generating an online quotation does not constitute a confirmed booking.

If you are booking on behalf of a business or another person, you confirm that you have authority to do so.

Nothing in these terms excludes or restricts any rights that cannot legally be excluded, including statutory consumer rights.

3. Quotations and Pricing

Quotations may be provided through our website calculator, by email or by telephone.

Online quotations are estimates based on the information supplied, including:

  • Collection and delivery locations.

  • Journey distance and vehicle requirements.

  • Collection and delivery dates and times.

  • Urgency and service requirements.

  • Additional collection or delivery stops.

  • Waiting time.

  • Applicable road charges, tolls and other surcharges.

The final price will be confirmed before a booking is accepted.

LSCS Couriers reserves the right to revise a quotation where information supplied is inaccurate, incomplete or subsequently changed.

Any additional charges arising during a delivery will be explained where reasonably practicable before they are incurred.

Prices and applicable taxes will be communicated to the customer before booking confirmation.

4. Booking and Service Availability

All bookings are subject to vehicle, driver and operational availability.

Customers must provide accurate collection and delivery addresses, contact details, consignment information and any relevant access instructions.

LSCS Couriers may decline a booking where a consignment is unsuitable, unsafe, unlawful or beyond the capacity of the available vehicle.

A booking is not confirmed until expressly accepted by LSCS Couriers.

5. Collection and Delivery

Customers are responsible for ensuring that:

  • Goods are ready for collection at the agreed time.

  • Appropriate access is available at collection and delivery locations.

  • Goods are suitably packaged, labelled and secured for transport.

  • Accurate details of the contents, weight and dimensions are provided.

  • Someone is available to release or receive the consignment where required.

  • Any special handling requirements are disclosed before booking.

LSCS Couriers will take reasonable care in collecting, transporting and delivering consignments.

Where proof of delivery is available, it may be provided electronically or through other appropriate means.

6. Packaging and Prohibited Goods

Customers must ensure that goods are appropriately packaged to withstand normal transport and handling.

Unless expressly agreed in writing, LSCS Couriers does not accept:

  • Illegal goods or substances.

  • Explosives, firearms, ammunition or dangerous weapons.

  • Hazardous, flammable or toxic substances.

  • Live animals.

  • Perishable goods requiring controlled temperatures.

  • Cash, negotiable instruments or exceptionally high-value items.

  • Goods requiring specialist licences, permits or handling arrangements.

Customers must disclose any unusual, fragile, valuable or potentially hazardous contents before booking.

LSCS Couriers may refuse or suspend transport where goods present an unacceptable safety, legal or operational risk.

7. Vehicle Capacity and Loading

Services are provided using vehicles appropriate to the booking, subject to availability.

Customers must accurately disclose consignment dimensions and weight.

LSCS Couriers may refuse goods exceeding the vehicle's legal carrying capacity or presenting an unsafe loading risk.

Where loading or unloading requires specialist equipment, additional personnel or unusual handling, this must be agreed in advance.

8. Delivery Times and Delays

LSCS Couriers will make reasonable efforts to meet agreed collection and delivery times.

However, journey times may be affected by circumstances outside our reasonable control, including:

  • Traffic congestion and road closures.

  • Severe weather.

  • Accidents and vehicle breakdowns.

  • Emergency incidents.

  • Delays at collection or delivery premises.

  • Restrictions imposed by public authorities.

Unless expressly agreed as a specific contractual commitment, stated arrival times are estimates.

LSCS Couriers will communicate significant delays as soon as reasonably practicable.

Nothing in this section limits liability where the law does not permit such a limitation.

9. Waiting Time and Additional Charges

Additional charges may apply where:

  • Collection or delivery is delayed beyond the agreed waiting allowance.

  • Additional stops are requested.

  • The route or destination changes.

  • Access restrictions cause substantial delays.

  • Additional services are requested after booking confirmation.

Applicable charges will be explained where reasonably practicable before they are incurred.

10. Customer Cancellations

Customers should notify LSCS Couriers as soon as possible if they wish to cancel or change a booking.

Cancellation charges may apply where LSCS Couriers has already committed resources, travelled towards a collection or incurred reasonable expenses in connection with the booking.

Any cancellation charge will be proportionate to the circumstances and will not exceed what is lawful.

For consumer bookings made at a distance, applicable statutory cancellation rights will be respected.

Where a consumer requests that a service begin during a statutory cancellation period, LSCS Couriers will obtain any consent or acknowledgement required by law before commencing the service.

Where a statutory cancellation right applies, the customer will be given the required information about how to exercise it.

11. Failed Collections and Deliveries

If collection or delivery cannot be completed because of inaccurate information, unavailable access, an absent recipient or other circumstances outside our reasonable control, LSCS Couriers will contact the customer where practicable to agree next steps.

Reasonable additional charges may apply for waiting, redelivery, return journeys or other services required.

Where goods cannot be delivered, LSCS Couriers will take reasonable steps to safeguard them pending further instructions.

12. Loss, Damage and Liability

LSCS Couriers will exercise reasonable care and skill when providing its services.

Customers must notify LSCS Couriers promptly if goods are lost, damaged or delivered incorrectly, providing relevant evidence where available.

Any liability for loss, damage or delay will be assessed according to the circumstances, the agreed service, applicable law and any insurance arrangements expressly confirmed for the consignment.

LSCS Couriers does not accept liability for loss or damage arising solely from inadequate packaging, inaccurate customer information or the inherent nature of goods, except where liability arises from our own failure to exercise reasonable care and skill or otherwise cannot lawfully be excluded.

We do not exclude or restrict liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation or any other liability that cannot law
